美術家、梅津庸一の私塾「パープルーム予備校」による展覧会「パープルーム大学尖端から末端のファンタジア」を鳥取で開催します。本展覧会は、前衛と後衛、ハイカルチャーとサブカルチャー、都市と地方、ニューメディアとオールドメディアといったさまざまな対立をテーマとします。こうした対立は、眼前に立ちはだかるものなのか。一部の人々の意識にのみ宿るもの
なのか、そもそもまったく偽の対立なのか。グローバル化の背後で、さまざまなかたちで浮上するこれらの対立を前提としながら現代における想像力について考えます。本展覧会は、梅津庸一と、アラン、安藤裕美、智輝のパープルーム予備校生に加えて、多様なゲスト作家とともに展示します。また、関連イベントとして、シンポジウムやトーク、パフォーマンスを予定しています。
We are pleased to announce that we will hold “Parplume University –Fantasia from top to end,”the exhibition organized by “Parplume Yobiko,” the private school of the artist Yoichi Umetsuin Tottori. The theme of the exhibition is various antagonisms such as avant-garde and rearguard,high culture and subculture,
city and countryside, new media and old media. Are those antagonisms standing in front of our eyes, or inhabiting minds of only certain people? Or, are those antagonisms totally illusional? We are focusing on the imagination of today coming
up in various forms behind the globalism, premising those antagonisms.
The exhibition welcomes the works of artists as guests in addition to the works of Yoichi Umetsu and Parplume students, Alan, Yumi Ando and Tomoki. The symposiums, gallery talks and performances are scheduled as the related events.
